all the areas i have seen so far have lovely design and well used placebles but placebles only are not the key to create a good area its more like sounds, light settings, npcs or just text descriptions
I noticed that some areas lack of sounds when you are close to a river/water stream or a lake...heck why not add some insect sound at night, or toads? There is a nice script out there of automatic trigger which is very easy to implement if you want to describe for players something that NWN engine cant show. ..
All this create the feel of "living" environment.

Okay, now i wholly agree with you... but here comes the problem. I got so much crap to be doing... that im too lazy to go around editing areas with sounds. when i get some free time, and im feeling creative. i might just do that.

Arr, I add environmental effects to all my areas, or at least try to. I sympathize.

Indeed environment sounds are important, the to creating the best gaming feeling ever, for example. Watching a scary movie without sounds... Not the best scary movie then. The sounds adds up alot of feeling in a game or whatever. So Bane, can't you get anyone else doing the shady work? I know myself that adding sounds to each f'king thing on such a big mod this is now, could be a pain in arse. So please try at least getting someone to do it for you like for example..... *Looks thoughtful* A slave!? Anyway you are doing a great job guys. The areas I've seen so far are amazing.

heh yeah i guess like if you had a haunted house with no creepy creeking sounds or erie thing or w/e it would be lame and just seem like another regular house to kill things in lol *shrugs* but i'm not complaining... it is still beta and things will be worked on i'm sure just need to give it sometime i guess *shrugs*

I second caiwar's motion.
@ Bane: just one or two would greatly improve on the situation. As with everything: none isn't good and too much isn't either; but add one or two in the most deservibg places and it'll rock. Perhaps the first two will inspire you Bane!
