This thread is to clarify things on classes, which are requestable, which are free-reign and which are pretty much non-existant.

26/11/05
Barbarians - Open-class.
Barbarian class is an open class, every person is free to play them - but they are a pure barbarian class, no multi-classing with these guys.
E.g: Fighter 8 Barbarian 1
Exceptions may be made if you supply reasons, but if it seems your looking a loop-hole just to cherry-pick the class for its rage abilities, then don't expect much to happen.
Bard - - Open class.
Bards understand the importance of the magic which flows through the earth, and through song and dance do they try to give that magic back to the earth - but also they are able to manipulate that magic, which would grant them the abilities they have.
But Bards are not fanatics, they have no set morale and often follow their own heart - for better or worse. There are those who would drain the magic from the earth to their own benefit, without returning it.
Cleric - - Request only.
Due to how clerics are handled and implemented into Kydor, you must first make a request for your character to have the ability talent - the cleric levels represent a greater power and focus in their talents, which brings their abilities to new levels.
There will be a thread to supply more in more detail the restrictions of the cleric class and the abilities offered by the talent.
Druid - - Request only.
Due to how the class is handled in and implented into Kydor, Druids are currently a restricted class and must be requested. They understand the importance of life, and know the magic of the earth must be replenished.
Every act out of love, care, selflessness, etc, feeds the planet and they help to restore the magic where it has gone or fading - they lift their hands in anger to none and are sworn to harm no living creature.
In the same turn, every act of hate, jealousy, greed drains the life planet of its magic and life - much much faster than they can possibly replenish it, it is a demanding job, but one that must be done.
Druids tend to preach these beliefs to others.
At this moment i beleive the class can only be chosen if your character has the talent ability, i will clarify on that once i have spoken with Tim.
Fighter - - Open class.
Not much to be said on these...
Monk - - Open class.
Muh? - free to make your own code of honour which your monk follows, we'll no doubt supply some popular ones, though.
Paladin - - Open class, read below.
Paladins are the Knights of the Source, although they are not requested, your character will have to become a fighter or some other class and work toward it - whether you can take the class or not will depend entirely on the success of your character, and whether or not the Source Knights see you fit as a member of their order.
Ranger - Open class.
Rangers hold the same love of nature and its creatures as the Druids do, they also have a great respect for them and their purpose, holding them in the highest regard, as they dedicate their lives to replenishing the earths magic.
Although Rangers are free spirits and held by no codes other than their own, they have much the same intention as the Druids - to protect life and aid the earth. They tend to be reluctant to kill, although unafraid to.
Through use of the herb known as Lorassium, they can attune themselves to the earth and harness its magic to manipulate to use to their own advantage, although the effect lasts mere moments.
Rogue - Open class.
Alot of strings to be pulled, be sure to pull the right ones, huh? ;D
Sorcerer Open class, read below.
Sorcerers powers are driven through their emotions, and are therefore seen as erratic and unstable - a danger to themselves and mostly those around them.
The source of their power is generally unknown, but they are often beleived to have made pacts with demons or draw their power from an evil source, others are beleived to be cursed - but the outcome for being found out to be a blood mage is still the same.
A trip to the pyre.
This class is open for all to play, but understand that if you are found out to be a sorcerer ingame and the guards are made aware of it, you are in big trouble.
I can't stress this enough, as we don't want to kill all that attempt this class:
Be careful when you play this class!
Wizard - Requestable and open.
To become a wizard, a person needs to bury their head in book after book, learning the arts of spellcraft. They are generally accepted, but feared and people walk wary around them, never knowing the extent of their true powers.
You must register to the wizard guild in Kydor be granted permission to cast spells and the like without the fear of execution the sorcerers must deal with.
You can either make a request for the class and begin from the very start level as a wizard, or you can start off with another class, and eventually switch to a spell-caster, doing so will require no request, but it is strongly advised you ask a DM for help on this, as you will need to be accepted amongst the wizards and receive their token in return.
Assassin - - Requested
Assassins are not so much requested as they are earned - if you want your character to be granted permission to take assassin levels, show us ingame that your capable of it. Involve yourself in a quest, or speak with a DM and attempt to organise a new quest where you can participate and prove yourself.
Shadowdancer - -Requested.
If you are interested in this class, contact a DM. No information is being revealed on this class, and it is a class that will take you some time of RPing and events to acheive, requesting will begin the first step.
Harper Scout - Open class, read below.
The Harper Scout will represent the master explorers of Ayden, granting them access to a wider range of knowledge and information others would not normally have access to - they will also have extra items and abilities for their job.
E.g: A usable map which reveals certain areas.
You'll have to work to get into this group, prove yourself a capable explorer.
Arcane Archer -
Speak with a DM if you are interested in this class, only half-elves and elves capable of acheiving this class, as set by bioware. This class will take considerable time to acheive, but will involve you deeply in the worlds history and reveal much with time and patience.
Black Guard -- Request only.
The Evil Knights of the Source, these are pretty much the opposite as a good Knight of the Source.
Contact a DM if you are interested in becoming a Black Guard, we have orders hidden in Ayden that will approach your character if you can prove yourself to be a useful ally to them.
Champion of Torm -
Undecided - possibly a greater ranking for Source Knights.
Weapon Master - Request only.
Speak with a DM if you have a character interested in becoming a weapon master, your character will have to undergo private training with a master to advance to such a level of skill.
In doing so you will become apprentice to that person, and they will become your master, until the day they decide your training completed.
To succeed in acheiving this class all depends on how the RP between the student and the master goes... The master has a personality of his own, he may not wish to take you under his wing if he feels your going to hack up half the patrons in a tavern just to prove to yourself how good you've become.
Pale Master - - Requested.
Pale Master will take a considerable amount of time to acheive, if you are interested playing this class, speak with a DM, or send in a request. This will have to be earned, although a background will help -immensely- while doing the quest, it will allow us to involve your character into the quest on a much deeper and personal level.
Best to speak with DM Boomer on this request.
Shifter -
Non-existant for the time being, although we may decide to implement them later.
Dwarven Defender - Request Only.
There is a dwarven city deep in the mountains to the far east of Ayden, it is there you will receive the training to advance to this class - whether or not you succeed in getting this class depends entirely on the task the DM sets you.
It is possible, if you supply a fitting background, that your character is automatically allowed to take levels when you reach the appropriate level.
Red Dragon Disciple -
Non-existant.
